Forward, Goaltender selected
to ACHA Central Region 3rd Team
April 14, 2009 This year the MACHA is
represented by Missouri State Goaltender Mike Poepping, and RMC-Peoria
Forward Josh Sandburg to the ACHA Central Region 3rd Team.
Selected to the MACHA Al-Star Challenge Team,
MACHA Goaltender of the Year Mike Poepping put together a
13-10-1 season, with a 2.71 GAA, a 91.7% save percentage, and 2
shutouts.
MACHA First Team selection Josh Sandburg had
34 goals and 41 assists for 75 points in 36 games for RMC-Peoria,
and was also elected to the MACHA All-Star Challenge Team.
Congratulations to both players on an
excellent season!
Day 3: MACHA Wins Finale over
ACCHL All-Stars 8-6
April 5, 2009 The MACHA closed out the
All-Star Challenge with an 8-6 victory over the Atlantic Coast
Collegiate Hockey League All-Stars.
The ACCHL includes players from Georgetown, NC
State, Virginia Tech, U of North Carolina, U of Virginia, and
Duke

The MACHA finishes the Challenge, with 3 wins
and 2 losses. Eastern's Dale Michonski (3 Goals, 3 Assists) and
Kansas Jayhawk Kevin Kiske (4 Goals, 2 Assists) led the team in
scoring with 6 points over the weekend. To view the breakdown of

Day 2: MACHA
All-Stars Fall to GMHL 8-4, East 5-3
April 4, 2009 The MACHA All-Stars
fought hard but couldn't get the win against the Great Midwest
Hockey League All-Stars earlier today, losing by the score of
8-4. Kevin Kiske led the offense for the MACHA, with 2 goals;
Noah Greene and Tony Maus (Mizzou) also tallied in the loss. The
MACHA had leads of 2-0 and 3-2 on the GMHL, but 2 late goals in
the second swung the momentum in the GMHL's favor. Missouri
State Net-tender Mike Poepping stopped 32 shots in the loss.
The GMHL All-Stars consist of players from
ACHA DII National Champion Davenport, Michigan State, Michigan,
Ferris State, Indiana, Grand Valley State, Ohio State, and Miami
(OH).
The evening tilt against the East (Independant)
All-Stars had the MACHA trailing 5-1 at one point in the 3rd.
Although they got 2 goals late, the MACHA would lose 5-3.

The East Independant All-Stars have players
from National Runner-Up Florida Gulf Coast, Central
Michigan, Kennesaw State, Penn State, DePaul, Kentucky, Sacred
Heart, and Bowling Green.
MACHA All-Stars
Sweep Day 1 vs. NECHA, MACHA-Atlantic
April 3, 2009 The
MACHA All-Stars were victorious against the MACHA-Atlantic,
winning by the score of 5-4. Iowa Defenseman Noah Greene had 2
goals, McKendree forward Charlie Donze, Eastern's Dale Michonski,
and Kansas University's Kevin Kiske each chipped in with a goal
apiece.
MACHA -Atlantic
All-Stars are comprised of players from University of
Maryland-Baltimore County, Temple, Rider, St. Joseph's, Rowan,
Seton Hall, and The College of New Jersey.
The Midwest All-Stars
dominated on the power play, tallying 3 times with the
man-advantage. Mizzou Goaltender Alec Schnitzler played
between the pipes for the win.
In the evening game, the MACHA won by the
score of 8-5 over the North Eastern Collegiate Hockey
Association All-Stars. The MACHA's power play
found the back of the net twice in 5 opportunities. Iowa
Netminder Will Dodge made 24 saves in the victory.
The NECHA All-Star squad is
made up with players from Vermont, UConn, Daniel Webster
College, Keene State College, Westfield State College, Western
Connecticut State, and Tufts University.

Players from both the Gold and Silver Divisions have been
selected to represent the MACHA in the tournament, taking place
in West Chester, Pennsylvania. This team will play against
other conferences who have also selected All-Star teams in a
3-Day tournament starting on April 3, 2009.
2008-09 MACHA Champions -
Missouri and McKendree
February
23, 2009 Congratulations go out to the
University of Missouri and McKendree University who won the 2008-09
MACHA Gold Division and Silver Division Championships respectively.
For Missouri this was their first MACHA
championship and was won in a triple overtime thriller over the
University of Iowa.. For McKendree, this was their second Silver
division championship in a row. Thank you to the
management and crew of the U.S. Ice Sports
Complex and McKendree who hosted the
tournament.

to see the fifth and final rankings. MACHA is represented by #7 Iowa -
Gold, #10 Missouri State - Maroon and the #15 Illinois
State Redbirds. Iowa and Missouri State will now advance to the
ACHA Central Division Regional playoffs.

Equipment Measurement Policy
October
8, 2008 The ACHA has implemented the policy and
procedures for measuring and recordkeeping of the goalie's leg
pads and gloves. Follow this

for more information. The MACHA referee-in-chief Jack Raslawski
has notified officials to take the measurements as
representatives of MACHA. MACHA league officials and the players
competing in the league are confident that the new policy will
be followed and no attempts will be taken to circumvent the new

Info: Game Reporting
October
1, 2008 In order to remain in good standing for
rankings and tournament eligibility, it is very important that
teams follow the proper protocol for reporting game scores and
DQ's to the ACHA. Follow this
link
for instructions. The ACHA and MACHA both require scores and
DQ's to be reported by the Tuesday following weekend games. Even
if there are no DQ's please report "No DQ's".
